Author Guidelines

The Jurnal Teknik Mesin publishes 4 types of scientific articles:
- review article,
- progress report,
- full paper,
- report on an ongoing research project.

After submitting your paper/manuscript, please send WA notification to the Chief Editor: Dr. Teng Sutrisno, WA number +62 857-3313-3382. This step is important to ensure no errors during uploading your manuscript which may lead to an unprocessed manuscript. The author also should fill the form The phone number connected to WhatsApp

Review article
This review article aims to give a general and comprehensive overview of a particular research area while creating obligatory emphasis on how the review results may contribute to the development of this particular research area. In this article type, the reader receives an opportunity to evaluate the most promising future research topic. This article type articles also inspires other authors to use information written in this article for the preparation of their works.
Manuscripts submitted to this article type should contain 16,000-20,000 words. The material should be divided into appropriate sections and contain 3-10 figures illustrating key points of the review. References should include 10-30 titles mostly from the last 10 years. In addition, the material should be accompanied by a brief summary and 4-7 keywords.

Progress report
The progress report article aims to generate new ideas, even ambitious ones! For this reason, the progress report article should not be exhaustive but should propose new ideas based on a critical analysis of the latest achievements in the selected research topic.
Manuscripts submitted to this section should contain 8,000-10,000 words and be divided into appropriate sections and contain 5-10 figures illustrating key points of the critical analysis and idea of the author. References should include 20-50 titles from the last 10 years. In addition, the material should be accompanied by a brief summary and 4-7 keywords.

Full paper
The full paper describes the results of research conducted by the author (or group of authors) on the selected research topic. The author can communicate the last finding of their research in a particular research topic which then contributes to enriching knowledge for the research community.
Manuscripts submitted to this section should contain up to 10 images illustrating the key points of the study. References should include 15-40 titles mostly from the last 10 years.

Reports on research projects
This article type aims to give the results of experimental research conducted by the author (or group of authors) within the framework of some research programs (commissioned by corporations, foundations, etc.). Articles of this type should be a reliable source of primary research information and should not contain a review section as a separate section. Manuscripts should contain "bare facts" established as a result of applied research, and a brief author's interpretation of the data.
Manuscripts submitted to this section should contain a detailed description of the methods and conditions of the experiments and a graphical display of the results (histograms, diagrams, graphs, tables) in an amount sufficient for the reader's understanding of the importance of the results.

Each subsection must be given a short title. Each title should begin with a new line. The article comprises of Title, Authors' name and institution, The email address of the corresponding author, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and research methodology, Result and Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgement (if any) and Reference list.

Title
The title of the article should be short and informative and fully reflect the essence of the research presented in the article, i.e. the names are often used in information retrieval systems. Avoid the use of acronyms, abbreviations and formulas in the title.

The title should contain between 6 and 12 words.

Authors info
Specify the full name of all authors, affiliation, address, place of work, and contact information for each of the co-authors.

Contact person
Full name and contact information of the author, who will correspond with the editorial.

Abstract
The abstract should summarize the aim of the study, the main results and key findings. Abstracts are often presented separately from the article, so it should give a complete picture of the research presented in the article. Therefore, avoid using in abstracts:
- references;
- specific abbreviations and acronyms; if, however, it is necessary, they should be accompanied by an explanation at the first mention in the abstract.

The abstract comprises of 160 to 200 words and should be written in English and Bahasa Indonesia.

Introduction
The section should include the aim of the work and give «background» of the research, avoiding detailed descriptions of the literature review and summary of the results.

Materials and Methods
Materials and methods should be presented in such detail that they can be reproduced. Methods that have been published should be given by reference. Only changes should be described.

Experimental procedures
The experimental procedures should be presented in such detail that they can be reproduced.

The study was performed without financial support.

Data availability
Choose one of the options and indicate it in the text of the manuscript:

  • the manuscript has associated data in a data repository;
  • the manuscript has data included as electronic supplementary material;
  • data will be made available on reasonable request;
  • data cannot be made available for reasons disclosed in the data availability statement;
  • the manuscript has no associated data.

Use of artificial intelligence
Choose one of the options and indicate it in the text of the manuscript:

  • The authors confirm that they did not use artificial intelligence technologies when creating the current work.
  • The authors have used artificial intelligence technologies within acceptable limits to provide their own verified data, which is described in the research methodology section.

Images, photorealistic images, diagrams, drawings, and figures that have been generated by artificial intelligence should be labeled "Imagined with AI".

Acknowledgments
List here the people/organizations that have assisted during the study (for example, provide language assistance, help with the experiments, financial assistance, etc.).

References

References must be completed by following this standard.

  • Please make sure that all the links in the text are present in the list of references (and vice versa).
  • The references in the sentence use a bracketed numbering system [1]. Sources in the list of references and, accordingly, in the text of the manuscript should be located in the order of mention, not alphabetically.
